Elie Karaky is an experienced financial professional with over 20 years of experience in different industries. Elie is a licensed CPA, and certified Tax agent in the UAE; he holds an Executive MBA from ESCP Paris, and a bachelor degree in Accounting and Finance from the Lebanese University. He also holds a Diploma in International Financial Reporting standards from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, London, and CMA designation (Certified of Management Accountant) from the Institute of management accountants, USA.
Elie started his career at Antoine bookshop and Avis Lebanon as a junior accountant, and then spent more than 12 years at General Electric (GE) in 2008. He got promoted 5 times covering the Middle East, Africa and Europe regions, as operational controller, commercial finance manager, and CFO. In 2017, Elie established his own accounting and financial consultancy office EK FINANCE in Beirut, that got expanded to the UAE and the wider Middle East.
Elie’s major accomplishments were in structuring financing solutions for more than $3 Billon of infrastructure projects between the Iraqi government, GE, ECAs (Export Credit Agencies) and commercial banks. He also established the legal, administration and finance infrastructure for GE in Levant, by registering 6 legal entities. He created a business manual “How To Do Business In Iraq”, which helped the commercial team to execute. Elie engaged and led many financing restructures, drafted and implemented SOPs, workflows, ERP, internal control system and procedures for many clients. He finalized different governmental tax inspections for different companies.
